HOME LEARNING

Reading - we expect every child to read at least 3 times a week at home, ideally with an adult or older sibling.  We would love this to be recorded in their new reading diary.

Each half term a reading challenge will be set - look out for more information coming soon!

Maths - each week in school, we will play a different maths skills game.  The same game will be sent home on a Thursday for you to play with your child.  Feel free to ask us if you are unsure.  We would love to get ClassDojo photos of your family playing!  Further information, including online games and tutorial videos will be posted soon.

Wagtail Class perform part of the poem 'Anyone Seen My Dragon'? with actions.
We then used the poem as a basis of writing our own poems about the Loch Ness Monster.

Wagtail Class - A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To School

Still image for this video
Wagtail Class - our retelling of some key events from the story 'A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To School'.
We loved sharing the silly excuses for the boy being late to school, as well as re-telling parts of it with actions.
We have even written our own silly stories!

'Why are you late? First, some giant ants stole my breakfast. Next some mysterious mole people grabbed me and dragged me underground. Next, I saw Little Red Riding Hood looking for her Grandmother's house! After that, we sat down and ate breakfast. Finally we flew in a private plane. That's why I'm late!"
