We successfully welcomed back our Years 1-6 pupils this morning! What a pleasure it was to see so many keen to return to this new normal and for me to meet more of you.
This morning I was able to speak virtually to the whole school via a TEAMs meeting. It was a different way of leading an assembly but an exciting way to bring us altogether safely from the comforts of everyone’s classrooms. Perhaps some of these practices are here to stay!
We have worked hard to get ready for today, not only on our recovery curriculum but also to ensure that we are following Government guidance. Your children have been at the heart of all our plans and we are all excited to support them once again in what is, despite these different ways of working, an enjoyable learning environment.
We fully understand the difficulties associated with the staggered drops offs for those with more than one child in our school and also for those waiting for our after school care. The playground was a busy place this morning and like all our plans is under review to ensure that everyone is able to maintain a safe distance. Now that those early term nerves will have eased and everyone knows where they should be we are hopeful for a smoother start to the school day with parents feeling confident that they can leave the site promptly.
A polite reminder for parents to avoid coming into the office. Our office staff are contactable via email or over the phone. However, if you do need to speak to someone in person, please could you wait outside under the covered area and a member of the team will come to greet you.
Thank you for helping to follow the guidance to minimise risk to our school community.
The Nightingale Team wish you all a great weekend.
