Is your child unwell?

If your child is unwell and you are unsure if you should keep them at home, please refer to this flow chart

We are currently experiencing a vast volume of communications from parents regarding illness.

In the current climate it is essential that the school office is advised with a definite reason for a child’s absence.

We cannot accept, “unwell, not well, under the weather”.

If your child is kept at home we also ask that you contact the school office daily with updates and leave a voicemail if your call is not answered.

Please find below the symptoms of Coronavirus to be aware of:

The main symptoms of coronavirus in children:

  • a high temperature (37.8 and above)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot, for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours
  • a loss or change to sense of smell or taste – this means they cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

What to do if your child has the main symptoms of coronavirus:

  • Get a test to check if they have coronavirus as soon as possible.
  • Stay at home and do not have visitors until you get the test result – only leave your home to have a test.
  • Anyone you live with, and anyone in your support bubble, must also stay at home until you get the result.
