This half term Goldfinch, Jackdaw and Wren will be studying the Stone Age. During this time, children will be learning all about what life was like in the Stone Ages and the changes from the Age to the Iron Age.
In Science, children will be investigating rocks and solids, making cross-curricular links to their topic on the Stone Age.
During the Literacy hour, the children will be focusing on narrative writing, looking closely at the skills needed to write an exciting story. Children will experience writing character descriptions, setting descriptions as well as writing their own story. This will all stem from their book study this term which is, The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, by CS Lewis.
In Maths, the children will be learning about shape and statistics as well as solving addition and subtraction problems using their place value knowledge to support them. Children will then be going onto learning about multiplication and division.
All Maths and Literacy Homework is handed out on a Thursday and is due in the following Tuesday. Children have Home Learning Books for Maths and Literacy that they need to complete their homework in.
Year 3 have AAA on a Wednesday afternoon. Please ensure that your child brings in appropriate kit for these days.
Library days are on a Monday for Wren and Jackdaw, and Goldfinch class. Children will be expected to bring in their library book during these times so that they have the opportunity to change it for a new one.
